What to Expect

What can I expect on my first visit?

Although it shouldn’t be, sometimes visiting a church can be extremely stressful. What to wear? What time to arrive? Where should I go? Where should I sit? What about my kids?!…
Sounds stressful just thinking about it. At First Baptist Church we’ll do our best to make you feel at home. We value being friendly, encourage fellowship, God honoring music, and most of all, The Word of God. We begin services with adult and children’s Sunday School at 10am with our worship service at 11am.

What should I wear?

First Baptist Church does not have a dress code. Most of those who come dress in normal, everyday attire. Most of the time our pastor will have on a suit but it's not required for those coming to church.

What about my kids?

We have a nursery for toddlers and young babies, as well as Sunday School for ages 5 through adult.

Am I expected to give an offering?

No, we don’t invite you here so that you can give an offering. We would rather you be able to feel a welcoming, friendly spirit and family atmosphere as well as be encouraged by the music and preaching of God’s Word.

Are there church services at other times?

Yes, apart from Sunday School (10am) and the morning worship service (11am), we have a Sunday afternoon service at 12:45pm following our weekly Sunday potluck.

Do I need to bring a Bible?

We would always encourage you to bring a Bible regardless of what church you are visiting. It is always good to compare what is being preached, with what the Bible says. We at First Baptist Church use the King James Bible. We do have plenty of extras so if you don’t have one and wish to follow along.
